About this campsite
Faskally Woods sits in mature woodland just north of Pitlochry, above the shore of Loch Faskally, the reservoir created by the town's hydro-electric dam. It has been run on this ground since the 1950s and has grown over the decades into a proper family holiday park, with a heated indoor pool, a bar and bistro and a decent shop, alongside its touring and camping pitches — a step up in facilities from the smaller, back-to-basics sites elsewhere in the Highlands. That makes it a good match for families who want walking and cycling by day (the Pitlochry dam, salmon ladder and Faskally forest trails are all on the doorstep, with Killiecrankie and Blair Atholl a short drive further north) but don't want to rough it completely once the kids are back at the pitch. Being close to Pitlochry's shops, theatre and distilleries doesn't hurt either.
