Camping in Pembrokeshire: what to know

Pembrokeshire is Britain’s only coastal national park, and its campsites make the most of it: fields that roll down to sandy coves, pitches overlooking Ramsey Island and farm sites a five-minute walk from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Coasteering, surfing at Freshwater West and boat trips to see puffins on Skomer are all on the doorstep.

The north coast around St Davids and Newport is wilder and quieter; the south around Tenby, Saundersfoot and Manorbier has the gentlest beaches for families. Many sites are simple and traditional — a field, a shower block and a view — which is exactly what makes them special.
