Camping in Cornwall: what to know
Cornwall is Britain’s surf and beach camping capital. Campsites on the north coast around St Ives, Perranporth and Newquay overlook Atlantic swell and sandy bays; the south coast from Falmouth to Looe is gentler, with sheltered coves and sailing. The South West Coast Path links almost every site to a beach walk.
The far west — Penwith, Land’s End and the Lizard — is wilder and more rugged, with ancient stones, tin-mine engine houses and the clearest water in England. Cornwall gets busy in school holidays, but late June and September offer warm seas, open beaches and easier bookings.
