Kielder Campsite
Kielder Castle Road, Kielder, Hexham, Northumberland, NE48 1EJ, England

About this campsite
Kielder Campsite sits right by Kielder Castle Visitor Centre, deep in Kielder Forest and about as remote as camping gets in England — there's no mobile signal, and the surrounding forest is one of Europe's largest Dark Sky Parks, so a clear night sky here is something else. It's a simple, independent three-star site with hardstanding pitches for tourers and motorhomes, grass for tents, a handful of camping pods and a couple of static caravans, plus enough space that it never feels crowded. The Lakeside Way cycle and walking route starts more or less at the gate, Kielder Water is a short ride away, and the observatory runs regular stargazing events. It's a genuinely quiet, back-to-basics stay for anyone who wants forest, water and dark skies rather than a full leisure park.
