Resipole Farm sits on the north shore of Loch Sunart on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, one of the wildest corners of Scotland's west coast, with ancient oakwoods behind and the loch's tidal water in front. It has been run by the same family for decades and holds an AA four-pennant rating, which is a serious mark of quality for a site this remote — the nearest town, Fort William, is well over an hour's drive away. There are 48 level touring pitches, most with electric hook-up, plus a scatter of camping pods and self-catering lodges for those who want a roof. Guests launch boats from the farm's own slipway, fish for mackerel and pollock off the shore, and watch otters and sea eagles working the loch; the surrounding roads and Sunart oakwoods are also excellent for slow, single-track exploring by bike or on foot. It's a proper base for the Ardnamurchan and Morvern peninsulas rather than a stop on the way to somewhere else.
