About this campsite
Sands is a long-established, family-run site on the coast just north of Gairloch, set back from a huge stretch of golden sand at Big Sand beach. Pitches look out across the Minch to Skye and the Outer Hebrides, and on a clear evening the sunsets here are some of the best on the west coast. The site has grown over the decades into a proper holiday centre, with touring and tent pitches, camping pods and static caravans, plus a shop and the on-site Barn Café for when you don't feel like cooking. It's a popular family spot in summer, with the beach itself perfect for swimming, surfing and rockpooling, and Gairloch village with its harbour and golf course only a few minutes' drive away.
