Seal Shore Camping and Touring Site
Seal Shore Camping and Touring Site, Kildonan, Isle of Arran, KA27 8SE, Scotland

About this campsite
Seal Shore sits right on its own shingle beach at Kildonan, on the southernmost tip of Arran, with nothing between the pitches and the Firth of Clyde but a low bank of grass. The view is the whole point: Pladda lighthouse sits just offshore, Ailsa Craig rises out of the water beyond it, and on a clear day you can pick out the coast of Ayrshire and even Northern Ireland. It's an AA four-pennant, Camping and Caravanning Club-affiliated site that's popular precisely because it doesn't try to be anything other than a well-run touring and camping park — two shower blocks, a laundry, a small TV room and a couple of glamping pods for anyone without their own kit. Grey seals haul out on the rocks below the site most days, and otters, porpoises and the occasional basking shark pass close to shore, which keeps the RSPB-minded guests happy alongside the walkers heading for Kildonan Castle and Silver Sands beach nearby.
