Staffin Caravan and Camping Site is a long-established, family-run site on the north-east coast of Skye, tucked under the Trotternish Ridge and looking out over Staffin Bay to Staffin Island. It has been welcoming campers for more than fifty years and is Camping and Caravanning Club listed, but it stays refreshingly simple — a working croft site rather than a holiday park, with no bar, pool or entertainment to speak of. That suits its location: it's the obvious base for walking the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr, fossil-hunting on the beach at An Corran, and exploring the waterfalls and sea cliffs of the Trotternish peninsula, all within a few minutes' drive. Skye's midges are a fact of life here in summer, as they are most places on the island, so guests come prepared and get on with enjoying one of the most dramatic bits of coastline in Scotland.
