About this campsite
The Old Airfield occupies forty acres of a former RAF base near Bransgore, on the western fringe of the New Forest, gently reclaimed by nature since the runways fell quiet. There are no marked pitches or hook-ups here — you choose your own spot beneath wide skies, watch New Forest ponies and their foals wander past, and pitch a fire pit with logs bought on site. What sets it apart from a purely back-to-basics field is the food: a coffee van, a weekend pizza oven and the Horse Box Bar with local ales and cocktails all operate from the site, alongside a new shower block with proper hot water. It's a five-minute drive from Burley's shops and cafés and about ten minutes from the beaches at Mudeford and Highcliffe, and alongside ordinary tent and campervan pitches there are twenty ready-furnished bell tents for glamping.
