About this campsite

Fields Farm is about as small and unspoiled as camping in the Peak District gets: a working farm on the edge of Castleton, with beef cattle, sheep and a flock of orchard hens, that opened a modest Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site in its top field in 2011. There's room for five caravans, motorhomes or tents at a time, each with its own electric hook-up, and because it's a certificated site rather than a full touring park there are no shared toilet or shower blocks, so you need to bring your own facilities (a self-contained motorhome, or a tent with a porta-potti). What you get in return is a quiet, uncrowded pitch on land managed under a Countryside Stewardship agreement, with footpaths straight from the gate to Castleton, Hope and the hills above the Hope Valley. It's adults-only, dog-friendly, and better suited to people who know what a CS site is than to first-time campers wanting full facilities.
