Knight Stainforth Hall occupies a 45-acre estate on the banks of the River Ribble, two miles north of Settle, built around a manor house whose history is said to go back to before the Norman Conquest and a spell in the hands of the Knights Templar. It's a bigger, more resourced park than most Dales sites: around 100 touring pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, three-quarters of them with electric hook-up, alongside 60 holiday-home static caravans. The Knight's Table restaurant and bar sits on site with river views, there's a wood-fired riverside sauna and even an indoor golf simulator for wet days, plus wi-fi, a games room, a shop, laundry and fishing rights on the Ribble. It suits people who want the Dales on the doorstep — Settle, the Ribble Way and the Yorkshire Three Peaks are all close — without giving up creature comforts in the evening.
