Hook Farm is a seven-acre family-run site just outside Lyme Regis, straddling the Dorset-Devon border and set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's the nearest touring site to the town, about a mile's walk from the harbour and fossil-hunting beaches of the Jurassic Coast, and the surrounding wildflower meadows and low light pollution make it a genuine dark-skies spot for stargazing. Pitches are informal rather than numbered, there's a small on-site shop for essentials, and weekend pop-up food in the high season saves a drive into town. It's geared towards tents, campervans and smaller motorhomes — touring caravans and anything over 6.85m aren't taken — plus a handful of bell tents and static caravans for those who want the view without the packing.
