Low Wray Campsite
Low Wray, Ambleside, Cumbria, LA22 0JA

About this campsite
Low Wray is a National Trust campsite tucked into the western shore of Windermere, between Ambleside and Hawkshead, with its own stretch of lakeshore and a footbridge over the beck leading down to the water. Pitches range from open meadow with fell views to secluded spots among the trees, plus a handful right by the lake that book up first each season. As well as tent and campervan pitches there are camping pods, furnished pods and safari tents with wood-burning stoves for anyone wanting a lighter-weight trip, and the site's own paths link straight into the wider Windermere and Claife walking routes. It's within easy reach of Ambleside and Hawkshead by bike or on the seasonal ferry, and gets busy through the summer holidays, so booking ahead is worthwhile.
