About this campsite

Syke Farm sits right in the middle of Buttermere village, on a working fell farm between two of the quietest, most photogenic lakes in the National Park. Pitches are unmarked and unnumbered - arrive, choose your own patch of grass, and settle in with views up towards Red Pike and High Stile. It's a proper walkers' campsite: no frills, but wonderfully placed for the round of Buttermere and Crummock Water, and the farm's own ice cream parlour next door is something of an institution after a day on the fells. Camping is priced per person rather than per pitch, and a couple of yurts and a shepherd's hut are available for anyone who'd rather not bring a tent.
